Tales Of Destiny Remake Series And BuyI love the series and buy each one day one, but cant seem to get further than a few hours let alone finish one in the past few years. Been a fan since Tales of Destiny on the PS1, but the last game I completed was Vesperia (I did skip over the 2nd Symphonia game, wasnt really feeling it). Oh wait, I did finish the first Xillia game because I remember reading it was shorter, and my playthrough ended up being 35 hours (unlike the 50 to 70 hours a typical Tales game can last). The series is great, I love the visuals and the characters and most games tend to have great music. The stories are ok but great characters can always compensate for a mediocre story for me. Once again, Im a few hours into Zestiria and have shelved it. I love it but I can already feel the bloat setting in, where it doesnt feel like I make much progress each time I play. The games are starting to feel like fast food, very samey and besides some battle system tweaks, each game seems to follow the same tropes and structure. Each one seems to have some shitty child character that I want to kick out of my party but cant. ![]() Cant remember how far I made it in Phantasia on the GBA, not sure if the cart even works. Just a few hours into Symphonia HD, with the intention of finally playing Dawn of the New World after if I ever get that far. ![]() The story in most of them are anime tropey as fuck, but sometimes the characters make up for it especially with skits. I dunno I play it mostly for the action battle system subsystems like cookingsynthesizingetc. If they could step away from making the series annual, they could come up with a great entry. Vesperia is a favorite because its pretty damn good at everything it does, and its not surprising considering its basically a PS2 Tales in HD with them learning from their past PS2 games. In that time they released like 7 more games (most of which I still bought). I do agree that they do tend to rush games and some games end up feeling half-baked at times. But since the merge it can be hard to figure it out which games totally had Team Destiny taking the helm with the battle system.
